The TMAX 500 started the sporty maxi-scooter legend. Plenty still ride in Morocco, often with tired paint: a graphics kit gives it a real facelift. First, though, you need to know which generation you have.

Updated 30 October 2026
The TMAX 500 came in two very different generations. The first (2001 to 2007) invented the concept, with fuel injection from 2004. The second (2008 to 2011) changed everything: aluminium frame and an all-new design. Then in 2012 the TMAX moved to 530 cc with new bodywork.
| Generation | Model years | What it means for the kit |
|---|---|---|
| TMAX 500 (1st generation) | 2001 to 2007 | Original, rounder bodywork: custom kit |
| TMAX 500 (2nd generation) | 2008 to 2011 | The base of our ready-to-fit TMAX 500 kits |
| TMAX 530 | 2012 onwards | Different bodywork: see the TMAX 530 page |
Our ready-to-fit TMAX 500 kits are listed for 2008-2012: they're drawn for the 2nd-generation bodywork. An imported TMAX can be a year off between registration and model year. Send us a side photo before ordering and we'll confirm the kit fits.
Each kit's layout sheet shows exactly which parts you get. Check it before you choose.
A TMAX 500 is often fifteen years old or more. Vinyl follows the surface: it doesn't hide a crack or a deep chip, it outlines it. Before fitting:
Faded but sound factory paint is a great base. The kit covers the most visible areas and the original colour does the rest.
The 2nd-generation TMAX 500 has tight, sporty lines. Angular, striped designs like COOPER follow its edges naturally. Want something else, club colours or your company livery? Try your ideas in the design studio, then go custom.
For fitting, follow our fitting guide. For the full picture on maxi-scooters, read the TMAX, XMAX and X-ADV guide.
No. Our TMAX 500 kits are drawn for the 2nd generation (2008 to 2011). A 1st generation has different bodywork: we'll offer a custom kit designed from photos of your scooter.
No. The TMAX 530 that arrived in 2012 has new bodywork. Pick a TMAX 530 kit and send a photo to confirm the version.
On fine scratches and sound paint, yes. Cracks, deep chips and raised repairs stay visible under the film: fix them first.
Not necessarily. Removing helps on big panels if you know how. Otherwise, fit piece by piece on the scooter, in the shade, following our guide. Fitting is also available at the Fez workshop.
