Aerox at Yamaha, Nitro at MBK: it's the same sporty 50 cc. With its 2013 bodywork it looks sharper than ever. Add a graphics kit and it no longer looks like your neighbour's.

Updated 30 October 2026
Since 1997, Yamaha's Aerox and the Nitro from MBK, its French subsidiary, have been the same scooter. In 2013 Yamaha renewed the bodywork and added the Aerox Naked and the four-stroke Aerox 4. Sources date the full switch to four-stroke differently (2013 for the Aerox 4, later for the rest of the range). Since 2021, Aerox and Nitro have been built together at MBK's Saint-Quentin plant, on the same technical base.
| Version | Years | What matters for graphics |
|---|---|---|
| Aerox / Nitro (old bodywork) | 1997 to 2012 | See the Aerox page |
| Aerox / Nitro (new bodywork) | 2013 onwards | Sharper lines; Naked and 4-stroke variants |
Our "Aerox Nitro" kits are listed for 2010-2024. Since the bodywork changed in 2013, and the Naked version has less fairing, a side photo before ordering is essential: we'll confirm the kit for your scooter.
Textured black plastic parts can't be decorated: vinyl won't stick to them. And the Naked version has fewer panels: the kit must be planned for it.
The sporty 50 cc par excellence calls for designs that move. RACE uses racing codes, COSMIC bets on out-of-the-ordinary graphics. Want your name, your number or your club colours? Test them in the design studio and go custom.
On a small scooter, two or three well-chosen colours do more than a rainbow. Start from your plastics' colour and add one strong contrast.
The full step-by-step is in the fitting guide, care tips in the sun care guide. And before modifying your scooter, read the regulations guide.
In principle yes: Aerox and Nitro are the same scooter under two brands, with the same bodywork within a generation. Send a photo so we can confirm.
The bodywork changed in 2013. A 2011 model normally has the old one: send a side photo and we'll tell you whether it's an Aerox or Aerox Nitro kit.
The Naked has less fairing than the standard Aerox, so some kit pieces won't have a home. Ask us before ordering, or go for a custom kit.
Yes, as long as it's fitted on clean, smooth plastic and kept out of the sun as much as possible. Our care guide has the right habits.
