Maxi-scooters

TMAX, XMAX, X-ADV:the big canvas.

A maxi-scooter means lots of bodywork and lots of parts. Generations and years, surfaces to cover, plastic pitfalls, budgets: everything you need to get the graphics right on your TMAX, XMAX, NMAX or X-ADV.

In Morocco, the TMAX is a star: in town or along the corniche, you spot it from a distance. The XMAX, NMAX and Honda X-ADV follow close behind. The catch: everyone has roughly the same factory colours. The good news: with so much bodywork, a maxi-scooter is the best possible canvas for a graphics kit. As long as you know your model well.

What's different on a maxi-scooter

Decorating a maxi-scooter is nothing like doing a naked bike. Three differences matter:

  • Surface area: front apron, side panels, tail, front fascia… The visible surface is far bigger than on a motorcycle. A kit transforms the look, but takes more vinyl and more fitting time.
  • Number of parts: a maxi-scooter is built from many interlocking panels. Every joint is a cut to plan for, and every generation has its own shapes.
  • The plastic: painted or glossy areas (ideal for vinyl) alternate with grained black plastic (textured), where adhesive grips poorly. A good kit targets the smooth surfaces.
Textured plastic

Avoid sticking vinyl on grained black plastic (lower panels, inner apron, some covers): the texture stops the film from lying flat and it eventually lifts. If you want those areas covered, talk to us first: it's a design decision, not a fitting detail.

Generations and years: the table to know

As with motorcycles, a pre-cut kit is drawn for the parts of one specific generation. Here are the key milestones, based on manufacturer announcements and the specialist press (European model years, give or take a year for an imported model).

Areas to decorate on a maxi-scooter

  • The front apron and fascia: the scooter's face. A stripe, a pattern or a logo here and it's all anyone sees.
  • The side panels: the largest surface, the one you see in profile. That's where graphics really speak.
  • The tail: ideal for a colour echo, a name or a number.
  • The front fender: a small part, but it visually ties the wheel to the rest.
  • Mirrors and small parts: as a finishing touch, without overdoing it.
Getting the balance right

On a maxi-scooter, covering less can look classier. A kit that follows the lines of the bodywork, with plenty of original colour showing, ages better than a busy full wrap.

As always, the sheet shown on each kit page displays exactly which parts are included.

Fitting a kit on a maxi-scooter: our advice

  • Take your time: more parts, more surface. Plan half a day or more, out of the sun.
  • Work in pairs on the big side pieces: one person holds, the other squeegees.
  • Remove panels if you know how: some parts are much easier to do flat on a table. Otherwise, fit on the scooter, one part at a time.
  • Mind the hot zones: areas near the engine and exhaust get hot. Stick to the placement planned by the kit.
  • Footboards take constant rubbing from shoes: rarely a good place for decorative vinyl.

The full method is in our fitting guide. And to keep the colours strong under the Moroccan sun, read the sun care guide.

Year or model not covered? Go custom

A 2025 TMAX, a restyled XMAX, a recent NMAX, the latest X-ADV, or another maxi-scooter (Honda Forza, SH, Kymco, Suzuki Burgman…): we draw your kit on your parts. Drop by the workshop in Fez or send photos, approve the render, we print, cut, and fit at the workshop or deliver to you.

The whole process is in the guide running a successful custom project, and you can start your request from the custom page. Kitting out several scooters for a business? Read our fleet graphics guide.

FAQ

Will a TMAX 530 kit fit a TMAX 560?

Not necessarily. The TMAX changed bodywork in 2017, then the 560 was heavily restyled in 2022. Each kit is drawn for one generation: send a side photo and we'll tell you which kit matches your TMAX.

How much is a TMAX graphics kit in Morocco?

Our ready-to-fit TMAX 500, 530 and 560 kits cost 890 MAD at the time of writing, with free delivery and cash on delivery. A custom kit ranges from 1,500 to 15,000 MAD depending on surface and design.

Can you decorate a scooter's textured black plastic?

It's not recommended: on grained plastic, vinyl grips poorly and lifts over time. Kits target smooth, painted or glossy surfaces.

My XMAX is a 2023, is there a kit?

The XMAX was largely redesigned for 2023. Send us a photo: if no generic kit matches, we'll offer a custom kit drawn for your version.

Is it hard to fit a kit on a maxi-scooter?

No harder than a motorcycle, but it takes longer: more parts and more surface. With patience, a sheltered spot and our fitting guide, it's doable. Otherwise, fitting is available at the workshop in Fez.
