In Morocco, Yamaha's MT family is everywhere: MT-07s in town, MT-09s on mountain roads, MT-03s for A2 licence holders, MT-10s for riders who want the big gun. The result: at the lights, your MT often looks just like the one next to it. A graphics kit fixes that. But before picking a design, one question matters more than colour: the exact year of your bike.
Why the model year matters so much
A pre-cut graphics kit is drawn piece by piece to the exact shape of a bike's panels. And Yamaha redesigns its MTs regularly: new headlight, new tank covers, new scoops, a slimmer tail. When a plastic part changes shape, a decal drawn for the old part no longer lines up: edges overhang, cut-outs sit in the wrong place, the vinyl won't follow the curve.
- The name isn't enough: a 2016 MT-09 and a 2022 MT-09 share almost no bodywork.
- The model year can mislead: a bike sold early in the year may be the previous year's model, or the other way round. What counts is the shape of the parts.
- Your registration card helps: the first registration date is a good clue, to be confirmed with a photo of the bike.
Send us a side photo and a front photo of your bike on WhatsApp. We'll spot the generation in seconds and tell you which kits fit.
Yamaha MT generations, model by model
Here are the key milestones, based on official launches and the specialist motorcycle press. Dates are European model years; an imported or second-hand bike can be off by a year. Only the shape of the parts is final.
Yamaha MT-07
| Generation | Model years | What changes on the bodywork |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | 2014 to 2017 | Launch of the 689 cc twin. Round headlight, original tank covers and scoops. |
| 2nd | 2018 to 2020 | Bodywork reworked: tank covers, radiator scoops, seat, tail, fender and headlight restyled, inspired by the MT-09. |
| 3rd | 2021 to 2024 | New LED face, slim indicators, redesigned panels (Euro 5 update). |
| 4th | 2025 onwards | Fully restyled bike: every panel is new, new headlight, revised riding position. |
Our ready-to-fit MT-07 kits are listed for 2014 to 2020 MT-07s. Because the bike was restyled in 2018, send a photo if yours is a 2017 or 2018 model: we check before shipping. For a 2021 or newer MT-07, it's a custom job.
Yamaha MT-09
| Generation | Model years | What changes on the bodywork |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | 2013/2014 to 2016 | The 847 cc triple arrives (FZ-09 in the US). Single headlight, angular tank covers. |
| 2nd | 2017 to 2020 | Facelift: twin LED headlights inspired by the MT-10, new front end and new panels. |
| 3rd | 2021 to 2023 | Almost entirely new bike: 890 cc engine, redesigned frame and bodywork. |
| 4th | 2024 onwards | New face, revised ergonomics, new air intakes on the tank, 5-inch TFT screen. |
Our MT-09 kits are drawn for the 2nd generation, 2017 to 2020. For a 2013-2016 or a 2021-and-later MT-09, we go custom, designed for your parts.
Yamaha MT-10
| Generation | Model years | What changes on the bodywork |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | 2016 to 2021 | Launch with the R1-derived CP4 engine, twin-headlight face. |
| 2nd | 2022 onwards | Euro 5 update: bodywork redrawn and partly removed (more frame on show), larger intake ducts on the tank sides, acoustic grilles. |
Our MT-10 kits cover the 2016 to 2021 MT-10. From 2022 the parts have different shapes: custom only.
Yamaha MT-03
| Generation | Model years | What changes on the bodywork |
|---|---|---|
| Old MT-03 | 2006 to 2014 | 660 cc single: a completely different bike, no shared parts. |
| MT-03 321 cc | 2016 to 2019 | The R3's twin, single headlight. |
| Restyled MT-03 | 2020 onwards | Twin lights with a central lamp, wider tank covers, bolder scoops, slimmer tail. |
Our MT-03 kits are listed for 2015 to 2024. Since the 2020 restyle changed the tank covers and scoops, send us a photo before ordering: we'll confirm the kit fits your version.
If your MT-03 is a 660 (single cylinder, before 2015), no recent MT-03 kit will fit. You need a custom kit.
Which parts to cover on an MT
An MT is a naked bike: no big fairing, but lots of small, highly visible parts. That's exactly where a kit makes the difference.
- Tank covers and scoops: the star zone. On MTs, much of what looks like the tank is actually plastic covers. It's the first thing people see, from the front and the side.
- Side panels: under the seat, they carry the tank's line towards the rear.
- Tail unit: small surface, big effect. Ideal for a number, a name or a colour echo.
- Front fender: often forgotten, it ties the look together from the front.
- Headlight cowl and flyscreen on some models: perfect for a logo or a thin stripe.
Exact contents depend on the kit: the sheet shown on each product page displays every part included. Check it before ordering to see what will be covered.
Style ideas for your MT
- Total dark: matt black and anthracite with a single accent colour (red, fluo yellow or cyan). Perfect on a black MT, discreet by day, aggressive up close.
- Race replica: graphics inspired by competition bikes, numbers and sponsors. Works great on the MT-09 and MT-10.
- Yellow or red contrast: on a grey or black base, bright lines that trace the silhouette. The MT look par excellence.
- Neo-retro: vintage stripes and colours to break the MT's robot image. Original, especially on an MT-07.
- Personal: your name, your number, your club or city colours. That's custom territory.
Start from your bike's original colour. A kit that picks up the frame or wheel colour looks factory-fitted. A kit that fights it has to cover enough surface to own it.

FAQ
How do I know which generation my Yamaha MT is?
Check the first registration date on your registration card, then compare the front end and tank covers with the generations in this guide. Easiest: send a side photo and a front photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the generation.
Will a 2014-2020 MT-07 kit fit a 2021 MT-07?
No. The MT-07 was redesigned in 2021 (new headlight and new panels), then again in 2025. For those years you need a custom kit drawn for your parts.
How much is a Yamaha MT graphics kit in Morocco?
Our ready-to-fit kits cost 950 MAD for the MT-03, 990 MAD for the MT-07, 1,050 MAD for the MT-09 and 1,120 MAD for the MT-10 at the time of writing, with free delivery. A custom kit ranges from 1,500 to 15,000 MAD depending on the project.
Does the kit cover the whole bike?
It depends on the design. Each product page shows the full sheet of parts included: tank and scoops, side panels, tail, fender depending on the kit. Check it before ordering.
Can I add my name or race number to an MT kit?
Yes, with a custom kit: we adapt a design or create one, with your name, number or colours, and you approve the render before cutting.
